So Many Changes

Wow! Ellie stood on her own, without furniture assistance, on May 24. Witnessed by Mama, Papa and Neighbor Mike, this accomplishment filled us all with pride. About a week or so later, she started taking 4 or 5 steps at a time; a skill she honed regularly until July 12 when, inspired by who-knows-what, she proudly marched from the bedroom to the living room ... WITHOUT STOPPING!! She is now quite the pro. Sure, she'll fall every now and then (who wouldn't?) but if there's someplace to go, she'll get there on her own two feet.

As if walking wasn't a big enough skill to acquire, she also is learning more and more words. Among her favorites are: "beh bow" (belly button), "tat" (cat), "meow" (meow), "paeh" (plane). Her smile melts our hearts and her laugh brightens up even the gloomiest of days.

Here are some recent pictures of our pride and joy.

If the recycle bin is good enough for paper, it's good enough for Ellie!

Cooling off in the sprinkler on a hot, muggy day.

Adorable as ever in her snazzy new pool.
