The Producers, Dances with Dirt, and a Birthday.

Both Dave and Caitlin were cast in Ann Arbor Civic Theatre's production of the Mel Brooks musical "The Producers." Caitlin was random chorus chickie and Dave was Franz Liebkind (a PERFECT fit). After a couple of months of rehearsal, the show opened on Thursday, September 10. The standing ovation it received was pretty special - and Dave got mid-song applause and cheers.

Day 3 of the 4-day performance schedule was Dave's birthday. He chose to celebrate by waking up at 5:45 am and driving to Hell to run 2 legs of a 100 km relay race. After a very brief nap, we madly cleaned the house in preparation for that evening's cast party (Ellie was sent away to the neighbors for her FIRST SLEEPOVER!!). Grinnie Liz and Aunt Katie came into town to support son/brother and were invaluable in party planning, preparation, and hosting!

Day 4 of the 4-day performance schedule was a tired day. So tired, in fact, that we completely neglected to photograph most of the show, any of the run, or any of the visiting family. Below is what we remembered to shoot:

The Producerettes.

In your face, Leo Bloom, random chorus chickie is after the furor-causing, hop clop dancing, scene stealer.

The old lady chorus immediately post walker dance.

By far the most fun number in the show for the ladies. How can dancing with a walker NOT be fun! And now we've had a sneak preview of Caitlin aging. Two words: Low Lights!
